A traditional symbol of the United States, the Bald Eagle is among the largest of birds of prey, found all throughout North America. They prefer to nest in the tallest trees near water, which abound in the Jackson area. Bald Eagles mate for life, can fly at over 40 miles per hour, and live in excess of 20 years, sometimes more than twice that.
